The Red Bird Inn

The Red Bird Inn was on Seibels Rd. It opened in the 1920's and closed around 1983. After the first building burned, the second building was constructed from old Army barracks.

  1. I remember going to the RBI as a small child. The waiters, who all had an uncanny resemblance to the guy on a Cream of Wheat box ( sans the cool hat), never wrote down a single order, choosing instead to remember them. As I recall they never got an order wrong.
Oh.. and the chicken was excellent!

  2. While attending Huntingdon College in the mid 70's, it was THE place to go before special events, and when parents came to visit. My husband and I remember it fondly, especially the fried chicken.

  3. Some of your info is wrong. Lawrence & Jane Clark bought The Red Bird Inn from Eleanor Jameson in 1982 and ran it until 1992.
